The Countdown begins...

Well, it is almost 1pm, and we are waiting for the video production company to arrive. We are set up, scripts in hand, white boards, easel's, cue cards...what are we missing? Well hopefully the camera's will be here soon. We have an ambitious goal to shoot 40+ video's regarding Life Insurance. It is hard to come up with 40 different ideas, let alone go achieve what we intend to do in 4 hours.
There is the doorbell, time to put the wheel in motion. More later.

Preparation for Video shoot...

I write this on the eve of The Benefit Guys' first professional video shoot. We always knew the importance of video's on the internet, and always knew how they would be used and how they would work. Well the time has finally come, and tomorrow we are doing our first professinal video shoot.
For the past week, topics have been thought about, added, deleted, amended, you name it. The challenge is, there is so many hours in a day to get everything done. For example, the video company is contracted for 4 hours. We are going to try to shoot a bunch of different videos reagarding, Life Insurance, Travel Insurance, Group Insurance, Disability Insurance and the list goes on. The purpose is to help you, the consumer, get a bit more educated on something you know that is important, but may not quite understand how it will work.

Not only are we doing this for the consumers, we are also doing some sales videos, to help our Affiliates. One of the things to consider, is since the video's will be released over several weeks, you have to factor in a few wardrobe changes, you know, stuff like that. Believe it or not, more time went into the preparation, than the actual shoot. It is just another reminder that preparation is important to anything you do. So, if you are reading this, look for the first videos on our website, www.thebenefitguys.ca in a few short weeks.

Some Seminars are better than others...

I once heard an expression, when the Student is ready, the Teacher will appear. When you think about it, it is kind of profound. The last few days, I have felt ready. After another late night and early morning, I really wanted to roll over and go back to sleep this morning, but I couldn't. I am one of these guy who when I give you my word, it is good. I was enrolled in a Seminar about Universal Life Insurance this morning at one of our Suppliers. The presenter was very well versed in the Life Insurance industry. He has been around for a number of years.
The seminar was basically a refresher that looked at Universal Life Insurance. The presenter broke Universal Life Insurance it down into 6 parts, and used a restaraunt / buffet analogy to describe the different parts. After 10 pages of notes, I realized that the presenter was taking the complex, and making it simple. That is the type of person I can understand and relate to. I look forward to implementing this knowledge in 2010.
