Fitting thought of the day...

I have come to the conclusion that not every post I write can be about Life Insurance or other business stuff. Few people have the ability to live and breath what they do 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. So I guess I am normal. I have been living normal for a long time, so I decided that is time to no longer be normal. So it has taken me the better part of 40 years, ok, 25 years to finally come to a conclusion that habits shape who you are.
About 20 years ago, i was loaned an audio tape series called, 21 Days To Freedom. The speaker was a psychologist, Clifford something I think. The purpose behind the series was that who we are and what we do are shaped by our habits. Whether they are good habits or bad habits, they shape us. The idea was that any habit could be changed or established by doing something contiuous for 21 straight days. Whether it be eating healthy, quitting smoking, exercising reading, you name it, do it for 21 days, it will become a habit. So, in my quest to be a better husband, father, businessman, financial advisor, blogger, person etc...(the list could go on forever), it is time for new habits.

One of the cornerstones to creating or changing habits, is discipline. Discipline lies within an area about 6 inches wide, by 8 inches long, and somewhat oval in shape. It's called your head, and inside is your brain. We have total control of the decisions we make, right or wrong. Discipline is doing something when you don't feel like doing it, because it is the right thing to do. It is too easy not to do the neccessary. It is easy to procrastinate the important. Tomorrow no longer has room for the unfinished of today.

Everyday will begin with a list. The purpose of the word "habit" was given to me tonight. I am not sure why, but I figured it was fitting. So, each day I will blog. I must make it a habit. It is important to me, and to what I want to accomplish. The reasons may be explained later. It may not always be about the Inusurance industry, or the trials and tribulations of being a business owner, but it will be about something. I may take a day off, but it will be spent doing something more important that I deem at that time. Let the good habits begin! See you tomorrow.
